Therapeutic Modalities & Interventions:

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) involves a process of identifying thinking patterns (i.e., catastrophizing, negative thought patterns, black or white thinking, negative self-talk) that lead to a decrease in coping skills useful in managing mental health issues like anxiety and depression. CBT interventions are problem and action-oriented approaches helpful for gaining harmony between thought patterns and behavior while learning tools to cope with life stressors.
Dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT) is a combination of CBT (dealing with thoughts and behavior) with mindfulness. DBT focuses on developing skills to improve self-awareness, reduce stress and varying forms of symptoms associated with anxiety and depression. When practiced, DBT helps to improve communication skills and healthy relationships by learning ways to stabilize your mood and regulate your emotions. Through mindfulness and skills training, you will develop a better sense of self and experience an increase satisfaction in your relationships with others.
Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) focuses on present functioning and future goals instead of processing past experiences. SFBT is a goal-oriented intervention places focus on a person’s present and future circumstances and goals rather than past experiences. In this goal and future-oriented therapy, that focuses on solutions and not necessarily the problems.
Person-centered therapy uses unconditional positive regard and empathy to help clients facilitate change. The belief is that every human being has the ability and capacity to fulfill life’s purposes and potential. Through guidance and support, you are able to gain insight and self-awareness to discover solutions for yourself.
Psychodynamic therapy is a process of self-examination useful for identifying internal conflicts. By resolving these conflicts, you are better able to have greater awareness and deeper understanding of who you are and what you want. Psychodynamic therapy examines your life from birth through your formative years to discover the ways in which your primary years impact your present functioning. Through this process you have a deeper connection with yourself, have healthier relationships with others, understand and identify your triggers which improves your ability to deal with your problems more effectively.
